A magnificent tree that produces masses of hot pink blossem followed by an abundance of crisp, crunchy, slightly sweet and refreshing fruits. The fruit is eaten fresh but can also be used in jams and jellies, salads and cooking. Ideally suited to the wet humid tropics but adaptable to subtropical conditions provided it has protection from frosts. Well grown trees with plenty and of mulch and care will fruit within 4 years. Requires ample water in drier times to thrive. Young trees can be pruned to maintain shape. In larger gardens, it is best to let it reach its true potential.
