Considered superior to jackfruit, this uniquely flavoured, sweet gaseous fruit is considered a delicacy. A true giant of the forest but surprisingly easy to keep pruned for a more manageable tree, or let it reach its true potential in larger gardens. The green fruit and seeds are edible, making an ideal vegetable. Cempedeks are, nutritious and prolific, ideal as a survivalist crop. Cempedeks do not like frost but will survive cooler nights, especially with lots of mulch, organic food and a warm sheltered position. Fast growing and fruiting within 4 years, no warm garden should be without. This selection is grown from a seed off the famed “Showniruk” Cempedek.
