Fast growing, small to medium sized tree with an attractive branching habbit to 5 meters. Grown for its delicious frutis which are similar to custard apples but with a lemon sherbert flavour. Rich and creamy, it is ideal eaten frush or used in juices and smoothies. Annona mucosa is a tree of the wet tropics and will thrive if given ample moisture in a humous rich soil, although it will also perform well in poor and acidic soils provided there is enough water. Young plants require protection from sun and strong winds but will take full sun once established. Protection from heavy wind is reccomended as they are shallow rooted. Ideal for backyards and large proerties alike. Prune to shape if required.
